B&C News Item
As part of the R22 replacement program at University of Cambridge. B&C Air Conditioning and Refrigeration have been making the most of Mitsubishi's Replacement Technology.
All of the R22 systems at the Dept. of Physiology have been replaced utilising the existing pipework (and wiring where possible).
MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC
The M Series Inverter*2 &
Mr Slim Power Inverter ranges incorporate ‘Replace Technology’ to allow the upgrading of R22 systems using existing pipe work without
the need to apply any special cleaning machines. Sizes 25 to 71 utilise the Mitsubishi Electric patented Hard Alkyl Benzene (HAB)
oil, a
unique oil that is more tolerant of contamination. By combining this oil with developments in oil separator technology it is
possible for this model to use existing pipe work without any special operations. Sizes 100 to 250 continue to use the more familiar
Ester Oils that are sensitive to chemical contamination. To allow these models to utilise existing R22 pipe work a unique ‘Replace
Filter’ containing activated charcoal has been included in the refrigerant circuit. During commissioning the system is operated in
‘Replace Mode’, this operation removing all the chlorine contamination from the existing pipe work allowing trouble free operation.
